1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Steamweaver Microventures, LLC ("Worldspring," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of worldspring.press and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. The Service
Worldspring is a publishing platform for authored worlds and the stories they generate. It includes the Workshop (for building worlds), the Theater (for live collaborative storytelling sessions), and the Library (for publishing and reading finished work). The Service can generate text and images at your request, as described in Section 6 and in our Privacy Policy.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also set or adjust usage limits.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at hello@worldspring.press of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts as described in Section 12.
5. Plans, credits, and billing
Authoring and reading are provided under your plan. Generation (producing tellings, images, and other output) may consume credits or be metered.
- Purchases. Paid plans and credits are billed through our payment provider. Prices and inclusions are shown at the point of purchase.
- Credits. Credits do not expire and are non-transferable. Unused credits are non-refundable except as required by law.
- Renewals. Subscriptions, if offered, renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel at any time in your account settings, effective at the end of the current period.
- Changes. We may change prices with reasonable notice; changes do not affect the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
Consistent with how the Service is designed: if your plan lapses, we do not delete your worlds - they are frozen in read-only form so you can return to them. See Section 12.
6. Your content and the license you grant us
You own your content. As between you and Worldspring, you retain all rights you hold in the worlds, characters, source documents, and other material you create or upload ("Your Content"), and in the output generated from it, subject to Section 7.
License to operate the Service. To provide the Service, you grant Worldspring a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit to our service providers, adapt (for formatting and generation), and display Your Content - solely to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service and to carry out the actions you direct (such as generating a telling or publishing an edition). This license exists only so we can run the Service for you; it does not give us the right to sell or independently commercialize Your Content.
Generation. When you use a generation feature, you instruct us to send the relevant parts of Your Content to third-party model providers to produce output. You are responsible for the instructions you give and the inputs you provide.
Publishing and sharing. When you publish to the Library or share a world or session with others, you grant those recipients access as you have configured it, and you grant Worldspring the license needed to make that access work.
Removal. You can delete Your Content subject to the read-only freeze in Section 12. We may remove content that violates these Terms.
7. Generated output
Output produced through the Service (for example, tellings and generated images) is created at your direction. As between you and Worldspring, we assign and transfer to you whatever rights we may hold in that output, so you may use it consistent with these Terms.
Important limitation. Content generated with the assistance of automated tools may not be eligible for copyright or other intellectual-property protection in some jurisdictions, and identical or similar output may be generated for other users. We make no promise that generated output is protectable or unique. You are responsible for reviewing generated output before you rely on or publish it.
8. Collaboration and shared worlds
The Service lets multiple people contribute to a world or a Theater session. Unless you and your collaborators agree otherwise:
- The world owner (the account that created the world) controls the world, its settings, and any Editions published from it.
- When you contribute to another creator's world or session, you grant the world owner and Worldspring a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your contributions within that world and the Service.
- Records of a collaborative session (Chronicles) may include contributions from multiple participants; all participants receive access to the resulting Chronicle as configured for that session.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload, generate, or publish content you do not have the right to use, or that infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
- Upload or generate content that is unlawful, harmful, harassing, hateful, or that sexualizes minors;
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or circumvent limits or security of the Service;
- Use the Service to build a competing model or dataset, or to resell generation capacity;
- Misrepresent your identity or your authority to act for others.
10. Mature content and age restrictions
Worldspring permits worlds and stories that contain mature themes - including graphic violence, dark or disturbing subject matter, and other content intended for adult audiences - subject to the rules below. Worldspring does not permit sexually explicit content, and strictly prohibits any content that sexualizes minors, as set out in Section 9.
Author classification is required.
Before a world is published to the Library or opened as a session in the Theater, its creator must classify whether it is suitable for audiences under 18. This classification is mandatory: a world cannot be made available to others until it has been classified. There is no pre-selected answer - you must consciously choose. You are responsible for classifying your content accurately and for updating the classification if your content changes.Age at registration.
When you create an account, you must provide your date of birth. You must not misrepresent your age.Restriction of mature content.
Worlds classified as not suitable for audiences under 18 - and any live sessions of them, and any output shared from them - are not shown or made accessible to users we identify as under 18. This applies regardless of the platform's general minimum age; a user old enough to hold an account is not necessarily old enough to access mature content.Our right to reclassify.
Author classification is a minimum safeguard, not the only control. We may reclassify, restrict, suspend, or remove any content we determine has been misclassified or that otherwise violates these Terms, at any time and without notice, with no obligation to refund any fees. Any content that becomes accessible to others without a classification is treated as restricted (18+) until it has been classified.No guarantee.
Age signals rely in part on information provided by users and third parties. We take reasonable steps to keep mature content away from minors but do not guarantee these measures are perfect. If you believe content has been misclassified, contact us at hello@worldspring.press.
11. Third-party intellectual property and fan-based works
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have all rights necessary for any content you upload, create, or generate, including material that draws on worlds, characters, or other elements owned by third parties.
You agree not to use the Service to reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit content that infringes a third party's copyright, trademark, or other rights, and not to instruct the Engine to generate such content. Personal and transformative creative works are yours to make, at your own risk and responsibility.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, damage, or expense arising from content you upload or generate.
We do not proactively monitor content for infringement. We may, at any time and without notice, suspend your access and remove any content brought to our attention as infringing or otherwise violating these Terms, with no obligation to refund any fees.
If you have any doubt about whether you have the right to content you provide or generate, do not upload or generate it.
12. Copyright complaints
We respect intellectual-property rights and will respond to valid notices of alleged infringement. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to us at copyright@worldspring.press including the information required by applicable law. We may remove infringing content and will terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
13. Worldspring's intellectual property
The Service - including its software, design, text, the "Worldspring" name and logo, and the worldspring.press mark - is owned by Worldspring or its licensors and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any right in our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service under these Terms.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us, or for prolonged inactivity, with notice where practicable.
On termination or lapse of a paid plan: consistent with how the Service is designed, we freeze your worlds in read-only form rather than deleting them. If you request full deletion of your account, we will handle it as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
15. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that generated output will be accurate, protectable, unique, or fit for your purpose.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Worldspring will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or content. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Worldspring and its personnel from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any third-party rights.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii. Nothing here limits rights you may have under mandatory local consumer law.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
